A note to readers: As Berry and Jenni move on, time for new voices to emerge, and we'll bring them to you
Dear readers,
Just a quick note to clear up some confusion. The departure of sports columnists Berry Tramel and Jenni Carlson was a blow to be sure, to our newsroom and our audience. But we didn't let them go. We're not downsizing.
In fact, we're hiring ― in both our news and sports departments. We are still a newsroom packed with talent. And as the largest newspaper in the state we are committed to bringing you the news and sports you need to know, when you need to know it.
Berry and Jenni are tremendous talents ― and marvelous people. Both were early in their careers as journalists when they joined The Oklahoman. If you're a sports fan, or just a fan of great writing, they became voices you couldn't ignore.
But they were presented with an opportunity that was hard to pass up. We genuinely wish them the best in their new venture.
Now it's time for new stars to emerge, new voices to captivate, aggravate and entertain you. At The Oklahoman, we promise to bring them to you.
