Notre Dame Academy announced Trish Miller as its fourth president on Monday, though she will not begin her new role until July.

'We really love this place. It’s our home.' Live-in sisters retire from Notre Dame Academy

The academy is located in Park Hills, Kentucky. It is a Catholic college preparatory school that serves 520 girls. The academy was founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1906.

“I feel truly blessed to have the opportunity to serve in the role of president at Notre Dame Academy and given my background in educational and business leadership, I feel that I am in a unique position to make a positive impact at NDA,” Miller said in Monday's news release. “As a graduate of Ursuline Academy, and a parent of four children, all of whom attended Catholic schools, I truly value the academic rigor and character development that a Catholic education provides.”

The school's former president, Laura Koehl, resigned in February 2021 after seven years in the role. Notre Dame Academy's board of directors formed a presidential search committee that spring which included a nationwide search, in partnership with Educational Directions of Portsmouth, Rhode Island.

Miller began her career in business and marketing, but said in the release that education has always been her passion. She joined Teach for America after 20 years in business, and then continued in her career as an educator at Withrow University High School and Aiken New Tech High School. Miller went on to serve as associate principal at La Salle High School in 2019.

According to LinkedIn, Miller went to Northwestern University and received a master's degree in secondary education from Xavier University. Miller later earned a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Cincinnati.

“Trish Miller is committed to the mission of the Sisters of Notre Dame to proclaim God’s goodness and provident care,” academy board chair Mark Hausfeld said in the release. “She will bring her gifts and experience to serve wholeheartedly the community of Notre Dame Academy to educate young women to make a difference in the world.”
