Nova Singers to perform works of peace and joy at concerts in Broward, Palm Beach

Peace and joy is the theme of the 48th concert season of the Nova Singers, Nova Southeastern University’s community chorus made up of 140 members — from undergraduate students to older residents.

They will feature Dan Forrest’s “Jubilate Deo,” a global choral interpretation of Psalm 100 “Oh, be joyful in the Lord, all ye lands,” which includes seven movements performed in seven languages. Other works in the lineup are “Shalom,” also by Dan Forrest, “Wanting Memories,” by Ysaye M. Barnwell of Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.”

The chorus is under the direction of Chuck Stanley, and accompanied by pianist Anthony Ciotti and a chamber orchestra.
