  • Priority Bicycles and Pantone have teamed up to create a collection of unique, limited edition bikes based on the two colors of the year for 2021: Illuminating yellow and Ultimate Gray.

  • The bikes are available to buy online May 9, but supplies are limited. Prices range from $499 to $699.

Priority Bicycles has rolled out its next line of bikes—a limited-edition collection made alongside Pantone. The four bikes in the collection feature the two Pantone colors for 2021: Illuminating yellow and Ultimate Gray.

Pantone has selected a color of the year every year since 2000, and this is the first time the company has chosen two colors. The colors are selected every year by a group of design experts and carry a meaning that’s reflective of the current times in some way. This is the first time the design company has partnered up with a bicycle company.

“The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope. We need to feel encouraged and uplifted; this is essential to the human spirit,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, on the company’s website.

Each bike frame features a two-tone design and Pantone logos. There are four bike models in the lineup: The Ace, a hip and minimalist singlespeed; The Coast, a classic beach cruiser in both a men’s and women’s step-through model; and The Start 20, a kid’s bike with 20-inch wheels, offered in two color designs.

“In a time of uncertainty for so many, the world’s excitement for bicycles has been one of the bright spots of the last year,” said Lauren Jones, director of partnerships for Priority Bicycles, in the company’s press release. “Bicycles have offered freedom, movement, and togetherness—even at a safe distance—and we wanted to celebrate that this spring with Pantone’s powerful color story.”

The limited edition bikes are available to purchase online starting May 9, and prices (quite affordably) range from $499 to $699. But inventory is limited, and given the current bike boom that’s underway, they’ll probably go fast. Check them out below.
