Upon its late 2023 opening, Sunseeker Resort will be a 22-acre waterfront complex on the north shore of the Peace River in Charlotte County. The resort will include more than 60,000 square feet of meeting space and will feature seven restaurants, 11 bars, and lounges, and a 25,000-square-foot food hall.

The Las Vegas-based Allegiant airline company has continued to expand its footprint and service along Florida's Suncoast adding numerous fights and destinations from Tampa to Fort Myers over more than a decade. Allegiant offers flights from both Sarasota and Punta Gorda airports — the Punta Gorda airport is only a few miles from the resort. Allegiant started service at Punta Gorda Airport in 2009 and reported that last year, more than 1.8 million passengers traveled to and from the area via the airline.

The twice-delayed project is now accepting guest reservations online for guests and visitors. The 785-key, $585 million resort is expected to open before the end of the year.
