Now You Know: Estero’s Vet’s Day plans, Santa at Wonder Gardens

The Village of Estero is working with a variety of community organizations to provide a free, patriotic and entertaining Veterans Day event for residents from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11, at the Estero Community Park.

The program will feature a patriotic concert, free hot dogs, an American classic and muscle car show and a kids’ zone.

Dr. Debi Lux, founder of the Collier-Lee Honor Flight, will give the keynote address followed by recognition of Goldstar Families and local veterans, ending with a 21 Gun Salute, playing of “Taps,” and an American pop music concert by Lindsey Graham.

This party is geared to bringing the entire community together in a fun atmosphere … all while honoring our veterans.  Plan on bringing your family, friends, and neighbors, along with your lawn chairs or blankets.

This special community event is being presented at the Estero Community Park located at 9200 Corkscrew Palms Blvd.

The Wonder Gardens offers photos with Santa starting Nov. 12

Each family — up to two adults and four children — gets 10 minutes to take as many pictures as they want with Santa. The Wonder Gardens will also have a photographer who will email the best three to five images in time for the holidays. The cost for each session is $55 per family for members of The Wonder Gardens and $65 per family for non-members.

“Families have made this annual event a tradition, creating memorable images for posterity and holiday greetings,” said Sarah Williamson, retail and communications manager for The Wonder Gardens. “This fundraiser also helps support our beloved attraction, which receives no government support to care for the plants, reptiles and birds that make Wonder Gardens special.”

The price of the photo session does not include admission to the park. However, The Wonder Shoppe, the attraction’s gift shop, is available without admission charge and includes animal-themed, locally produced and holiday gifts, including products that support wildlife.
