You Can Now Officially Option Half-Doors on Your New Jeep Wrangler

Jeep has teased official factory half-doors with canvas windows since the debut of the JL-generation Wrangler in 2017. Now, they've finally become a factory option.
Starting today, Jeep will offer a "Dual-Door Group" option package on two- and four-door Wranglers of every trim line. Buyers who choose the option will receive their new Wrangler with full steel doors installed, and the new half-doors with zip-out windows in the trunk.
With a lower sill height, the new half-door offers better visibility for off-roading, and the zip-out canvas window section can be removed completely for a more open-air driving experience. And since the half-door is factory designed, it works with all the JL's electronics, including power door locks, power mirrors, blind-spot detection, and keyless entry.
The canvas upper section will match the color and material of the soft top, either in standard vinyl or premium acrylic. The window section can be removed or installed without tools, and the door assembly itself will be removable with the Torx tool included in the center console of every JL Wrangler.
The Dual-Door option won't be cheap: for models with the standard-issue vinyl roof, the option will cost $2350 for two-door Wranglers and $3995 for four-doors; step up to the premium set, with upgraded materials to match the premium soft top, and the package costs $2550 for two-doors and $4395 for four-doors.
While the Dual-Door option is not available on the Gladiator pickup at this time, we don't see a reason why such a package can't work there. If the option proves popular enough, we wouldn't be surprised to see it added to the Gladiator's configurator as well.
