You can now submit ballots at drop boxes for presidential primary

SAN DIEGO — Have you filled out a ballot for the March Presidential Primary Election? If so, there are 146 ballot drop boxes open around the county.

There are 103 drop boxes located outdoors, which are open 24 hours a day until 8 p.m. on the final day of voting on March 5, while the 43 drop boxes located indoors are available when the facility is open, according to the County of San Diego.

Registrar’s official ballot drop box description

  • Red, white and blue with the registrar’s logo along with the county seal

  • Labeled “Official Ballot Drop Box”

  • Made out of high grade, heavy gauge stainless steel

  • Designed to prevent physical damage and unauthorized access to mail ballots

When returning your ballot, make sure to mark it, seal it inside your return envelope, date and sign your name on the return envelope and return it in the mail, or to one of the registrar’s official ballot drop boxes.

San Diego’s guide to elections during the Mar. 5 presidential primary

Head to the Registrar of Voters office on the County Operations Center campus in Kearny Mesa to vote in person during the week between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. A total of 218 vote centers will open by March 2.
