'Nowhere For Us to Run': Black Bear Cubs Crash Bachelorette Weekend in Gatlinburg
A group of friends celebrating a bachelorette weekend in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, were surprised when three bear cubs visited them while they were relaxing in a hot tub.
Video recorded by Hannah Smith on September 3 shows the black bear cubs hanging around the deck of the property before they get close to her and and her friends.
“For reference, this hot tub was in the corner of the deck of the house, so there was nowhere for us to run, and the deck was about 100 feet above the ground below,” Smith told Storyful.
“We were so worried to upset them and have the mama bear come for us, but the three cubs seemed like they wanted to hop right in with us,” Smith added.
Later in the video, pots and pans are heard clattering from the opposite side of the house. Smith told Storyful that a friend’s mom helped create this distraction, which allowed the women to run back inside. Credit: Hannah Smith via Storyful
