NSU women win big again

Kierra Wheeler scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, and Norfolk State’s women continued their early MEAC dominance Saturday in a 64-37 league win over Howard at Echols Hall.

The first-place Spartans (15-3, 3-0 MEAC) shot 43.8%, including 4 of 12 from 3-point range, and won every quarter for their sixth straight victory.

NSU has won its three MEAC games by an average of nearly 17 points.

Brooklyn Fort-Davis scored 10 points for Howard (6-10, 2-1), which was held to 27.7% shooting and committed 20 turnovers.

Camille Downs scored 11 points for the Spartans. Makoye Diawara added 10.
