Nueces County reports an increase in positive COVID-19 cases

Nueces County saw a slight increase in positive COVID-19 cases for the week of Friday, Aug. 4.

The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District reported 196 cases, 17 more than last week's report, bringing the total amount of positive cases to 123,228 since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

No deaths were reported, but five people are currently in the ICU and an addition 13 are hospitalized.

The health district reported Wednesday an increase in positive COVID-19 cases within the county, which is consistent with the nation's increase.

On Thursday, Harbor Playhouse announced the cancellation of its weekend shows of "High School Musical" due to some of its cast testing positive for COVID-19.
