That’s quite higher than the median annual wage across all occupations in the region, which is $38,960. So, the technology field in Hampton Roads offers workers more than double the pay of other occupations, according to the analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data, focusing on computer and math workers.

Still, the region’s median salary for tech workers is below the U.S. median annual wage of $88,340 and the $106,220 median wage of the greater Washington, D.C., area, according to the report.
