Numerous Santa Fe restaurants, hotels land AAA Four Diamonds designation

Sep. 25—Four Santa Fe restaurants earned AAA's Four Diamonds designation this year, along with a long list of hotels.

Santa Fe is the only New Mexico city with restaurants achieving that designation. New Mexico has no restaurants or hotels with the top AAA Five Diamonds rating.

Geronimo has carried Four Diamonds since 2004, and Terra at Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe has since 2009.

Sassella and Sazón both have been awarded Four Diamonds since 2022, though a 2019 fire at Sazón broke a prior streak that started in 2017. Sassella executive chef and co-owner Cristian Pontiggia separately was named Chef of the Year last week by the New Mexico Restaurant Association, and the same organization gave the Manager of the Year award to Jarrod Taylor of Jinja Bar & Bistro.

The same Santa Fe-area hotels received AAA Four Diamonds recognition, most of which have had it for more than 10 years.

Eldorado Hotel & Spa and Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi have carried the banner since 1997, with others including La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa (2007), The Inn & Spa at Loretto (2010), Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder (2011), Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado Santa Fe (2012), Inn of the Five Graces (2012), La Fonda on the Plaza (2013) and Hilton Santa Fe Historic Plaza (2017).
