National Donut Day is just a week away on June 2 and stores around the metro are gearing up to bring you a variety of delightful fried and baked doughy treats.

Whether you're a glazed, iced, cinnamon-sugar or sprinkle fan and whether you choose cake or yeast, there are spots all over town frying up sweet deals to make the day delicious.

Here's a round up of interesting donut shops in the Oklahoma City metro, including some national chains and unique hometown favorites, plus information on any deals we know about for National Donut Day.

1. Daylight Donuts, locations statewide

The Tulsa-based chain is known for light fluffy donuts and with nearly 1000 stores in 28 states and close to a dozen international markets there's probably one not too far from you.

Specials: Each franchise sets their own specials so check with your local shop to see if they have any offers available for the day.

2. Hurts Donut Company, 601 NW 23rd Street or 746 Asp Ave. in Norman

Known for over-the-top and over-sized donut creations that are filled, topped, and smothered in things ranging from icing and Oreos to cereal and bacon, Hurts Donut Company is a Missouri-based chain with two metro locations. The stores even offer some gluten-friendly options and locations are open 24/7, so you can celebrate National Donut Day beginning at midnight on June 2.

Specials: The Oklahoma City location will give part of its proceeds for the day to a local veteran nonprofit. Plus, customers who purchase a dozen donuts are entered to win free donuts for a year — that's one free dozen per week — valued at over $1,000.

The store will also have a snapchat filter that turns users lips to sprinkles and will be offering prizes throughout the day. Store owners are also partnering with Character Connection to have costumed characters on site for photos with kids from 1-2 p.m.

There will be over 70 varieties of donuts available for purchase and if you have the Hurts Donut shirt, which doubles as a wearable coupon, you can still snag a free donut, with purchase, just like you can anytime of year.

3. Shipley's Do-Nuts, 1805 W Main Street in Norman and 5750 Northwest Expressway in Warr Acres

The Houston-based brand boasts over 60 varieties to choose from, but says the traditional glazed is still the most popular flavor.

Specials: One free glazed donut per person, with any purchase, available online with the code Donutday23 or in-store from 5am-12pm, while supplies last.

4. Yonutz, 1001 W Memorial Road, Suite 103

Yonutz is the home of the "smashed" donut, a creation that blends donut and ice cream, you guessed it, smashed together (think a donut-ice cream sandwich) and then covered with any number of toppings.

Specials: From 4 p.m. until close, the first 5 guests at the top of each hour will receive a free smashed Donut of their choice, limited to one per person.

5. Mochinut, 2431 N Classen Blvd.

Mochi donuts are said to have originated in Hawaii. The popular treat combines Japanese mochi and American donuts into a unique treat unlike traditional donuts and much more suitable for those with gluten-sensitivities because they're made with rice flour instead of wheat. Flavors range from yuzu to peanut butter, taro to churro with a wide variety in between. You can also get your mochi donut topped with soft-serve or grab some Boba tea on the side.

6. Holey Rollers, 3010 Paseo, Suite 101

All of the donuts at Holey Rollers are 100% dairy and egg free and their gluten-free selection is one of the best in the city, making them a great option for anyone with food sensitivities.

National Donut Day coincides with the Paseo's First Friday Art Walk and will be open normal hours in addition to being open from 6 to 9pm, serving up traditional and seasonal donuts.

7. Krispy Kreme Donuts, 13500 N Pennsylvania Ave.

The North Carolina-based chain has about 1,400 locations worldwide in addition to being sold in grocery and convenience stores. Its donuts are based on a recipe purchased from a New Orleans chef.

Specials: Anyone who visits a participating Krispy Kreme shop can get a free doughnut of choice, no purchase necessary. Krispy Kreme recently returned four ”fan favorite” flavors to its lineup — the Banana Pudding Doughnut, Chocolate Kreme™ Pie Doughnut, Key Lime Pie Doughnut and Strawberries & Kreme™ Doughnut — all of which will be among those available.

The chain is also offering $2 Original Glazed dozens with the purchase of any dozen.

8. La Oaxaquena Bakery, 741 SW 29th Street

Donuts aren't all you'll find at this panaderia, but the cinnamon sugar donuts are always a huge hit around The Oklahoman's office so it is certainly worth a visit.

9. Momocha, 1112 Classen Drive
