From Sacred Soul to The Beach Boys' “Holiday Harmonies," “The Elf of the Shelf: A Christmas Musical," to Robert Earl Keen, there's no shortage of concerts and performances this holiday season in the Memphis area.

Husband-and-wife Americana duo Drew and Ellie Holcomb bring their Neighborly Christmas concert special to Downtown’s Orpheum. Tickets: $34.50 to $169.50 for VIP packages.

An Evening of Sacred Soul with Elizabeth King and Elder Jack Ward

The Crosstown Theater presents a special evening showcasing Memphis’ sacred soul music from the late 1960s to present day. The concert and screening event will feature an exclusive showing of The D-Vine Spirituals story documentary, followed by performances by Bible & Tire label recording artists Elizabeth King and Elder Jack Ward. They will be supported by the Sacred Soul Sound Section. Tickets for the show are $25. A free meet and greet/record signing with King and Ward will take place at the Memphis Listening Lab prior to the show, at 6 p.m.

'The Nutcracker: Land of Sweets'

Dec. 3-4, The Buckman Arts Center at St. Mary’s School

The Buckman will host afternoon performances of Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker: Land of Sweets" as interpreted by the Buckman Dance Conservatory. The dancers of the Buckman Dance Conservatory offer a fresh interpretation of this holiday classic. This production lasts just over 1 hour.

'Cabaret Noel 6'

Dec. 3-5, Evergreen Theatre

Emerald Theatre Company presents “Cabaret Noel 6: Step Into Christmas.” Join Topsy and Turvey, ETC's resident elves, as they host an evening of your favorite holiday songs and throw in some silly and sometimes adult humor. The show will feature performances by many well-known performers in the local theater community. Tickets: $15 at the door.

'A Christmas Carol' presented by Theatre Memphis

Dec. 3-23, Lohrey Stage

A Memphis family holiday tradition for 44 years, Theatre Memphis will present “A Christmas Carol” on the Lohrey Stage. Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is approached by the ghostly vision of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, who warns him of an upcoming spiritual journey. An eye-opening exploration leads to happiness and enlightenment, not to mention song, dance and holiday cheer.

Children’s Ballet Theater's 'Nutcracker'

Dec. 5, Cannon Center for the Performing Arts

The Children’s Ballet Theater's "Nutcracker" is a charming rendition of the classic holiday tale. Directed by Mary Van Dyke, the show features handmade costumes and amusing, lively choreography. Included in the performance are guest dancers from Tennessee Ballet Theater. Tickets for the Cannon Center performance are $21 to $65.

Memphis musicians Robert Allen Parker celebrates the release of his "The River’s Invitation" LP with an encore performance of the album at B-Side in Midtown on Dec. 11. The show — which will be recorded by syndicated radio program Beale Street Caravan – will feature appearances by Kennard Farmer, Hope Clayburn, Yubu Kazungu, Jason Freeman, Gerald Stephens, Donnon Johnson, Victor Sawyer, Adam Hill and Khari Wynn.
