NWS: 'Beautiful' dry weather forecast for weekend

Feb. 2—The steady rainfall should end by sunset today and dryer and warmer air move into the Tennessee Valley for the weekend, according to the National Weather Service in Huntsville.

"A front coming through will bring drier air with highs in the 40s on Friday and mid 50s on Saturday and Sunday," said Andrew Pritchett, lead forecaster for the NWS. "It's going to be a beautiful weekend."

He said Monday and Tuesday the area could see temperatures reach into the mid 60s.

Since Tuesday, Pritchett said, about 1 inch of rain has fallen on the area. "Temperatures didn't dip below freezing to cause any problems," he said.
