NWS issues flood watch for western Middle Tennessee with possible thunderstorms
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch until 1 p.m. for much of western Middle Tennessee. In Middle Tennessee, rainfall amounts could reach two to four inches or higher, they said. Another round of showers and thunderstorms will move through into early Friday afternoon, they said in an email. Gusty winds are also possible.
The affected counties include Dickson, Giles, Hickman, Houston, Humphreys, Lawrence, Lewis, Marshall, Maury, Montgomery, Perry, Stewart, and Wayne.
Weekend forecast
Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 90. A 20% chance of thunderstorms and showers after 1 p.m. Temperatures will reach a low of 72 at night.
Sunday: A high of 92 with a 60% chance of rain, showers and thunderstorms are likely after 2 p.m and will continue into the night between 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Temperatures at night will reach a low of 73.
