NWS issues special weather statement for snowy conditions during morning commute

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement advising drivers that snow will create slippery travel conditions during part of the Thursday morning commute.

As the temperature drops, the rain should change to snow by about 8 a.m., the Weather Service says.

"Part of the morning commute will be impacted with reduced visibility and roads becoming snow/slush covered," the Weather Service says. "Please drive with extra caution this morning and allow extra time to reach your destination."

Rain will change to snow Thursday. It won't accumulate much, but will make conditions slippery for part of the morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
