New York City breaks 701-day snow drought
It's snowing in New York ... finally.
For the first time in 701 days, more than an inch (2.54 cm for us Canadians) of snow has been recorded in Central Park.

As of 7 a.m. Tuesday, 1.4 inches (3.5 cm) of snow had accumulated in the park, according to a New York National Weather Service tweet.
It's the end of the region's snow drought, and it comes courtesy of a powerful winter storm that brought significant accumulation to parts of Texas.
The system also ended snow droughts in Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Maryland, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In contrast, squalls in western New York recently dumped 37 inches (93 cm) of snow on West Seneca over the weekend.
