A store camera shows the suspect, punching a man in the head, knocking him down on Saturday. As the 24-year-old victim walked into the CVS on 34th Street and 8th Avenue, police say the suspect made anti-gay remarks. An LGBTQ advocate says inequality remains a problem.
CATHY MARINO-THOMAS: It's New York City, and lots of people think that we don't have those problems here. But the truth of the matter is hate is everywhere, and it's an unfortunate situation that we're still dealing with homophobia in the city.
