NYPD Leads Graffiti Cleanup In Forest Hills

FOREST HILLS, QUEENS — The NYPD's 112th Precinct led a "large scale" graffiti cleanup in Forest Hills and Rego Park on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The cleanup followed community complaints of graffiti at various locations within the precinct, according to a Facebook post.

Graffiti-removal initiatives like those led by the precinct have happened regularly during the coronavirus pandemic, filling the void left after the city eliminated a $3 million Graffiti-Free NYC program as a cost-cutting measure near the start of the pandemic.

Efforts include the volunteer-led Forest Hills & Rego Park Graffiti Cleanup Initiative.
