NYPD releases photo of person of interest in deadly Bronx shooting

Cops on Monday released a photo of a person of interest wanted for questioning in a Bronx shootout that left a man dead and a woman injured last year.

The person was caught on surveillance camera riding a motorbike near the scene of the May 15 gunfight, which killed Gabriel Ramirez Gomez dead and wounded a 43-year-old woman, cops said.

Ramirez Gomez, 27, got into an argument with at least one man outside Bill Rainey Park at Rogers Place and Dawson St. in Longwood as a baseball game was underway.

Ramirez Gomez fired off a shot and gunfire was returned, striking him in the chest. At least 20 shots were fired during the wild shootout.

One of the bullets hit the woman, who police described as an innocent bystander.

Medics rushed Gomez to Lincoln Hospital, but he could not be saved. The wounded woman was treated at the same site.

Police are still working to track down those involved and are asking the public’s assistance in locating them. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
