NY's Times Square welcomes '22 numerals for New Year's Eve
The traditional numerals were presented by the Times Square Alliance right in the heart of the Crossroads of the World.
With the spread of the Omicron variant, hopes are being dashed for a more normal holiday season, resurrecting restrictions and stretching the country's testing infrastructure ahead of holiday travel and gatherings.
The city is planning to still host crowds at the present moment, but no matter what might change down the wire, the show will still go on for global transmission.
"A billion people will join us around the world as the ball descends," said the emcee of the 2022 numerals presentation, Jeffrey Straus. the president of Countdown Enterntainment. "And these numerals light up to greet 2022. There's no moment like it."
