A pair of New York Times best-selling authors who happen to be Indianapolis residents will talk book banning next month to benefit an anti-hunger program.

Ashley C. Ford (“Somebody’s Daughter”) and John Green (“The Fault in Our Stars”) will be featured at The Patachou Foundation’s 7th annual Speakers Forum on Oct. 24, in a conversation about the impact of banning books.

John Green made Indianapolis the setting for his novels "The Fault in Our Stars" and "Turtles All the Way Down."

The “Ban Hunger, Not Books” theme highlights the need to prioritize access to  nutritious food over the expending of energy and resources into censoring or restricting access to knowledge and information found in books, organizers said.

Jane Henegar, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana, will moderate the discussion.

This event benefits The Patachou Foundation’s effort to alleviate childhood hunger in Indianapolis.

The event will take place at Shelton Auditorium at the Christian Theological Seminary at 6 p.m.

Ford is the former co-host of The HBO companion podcast “Lovecraft Country Radio,” and the current host of “Ben & Jerry’s Into The Mix.”
