HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss football is keeping Oak Grove's Jaquerrius Gray close to home.

Gray is listed at 5-foot-8, 160 pounds. Officially tabbed as an athlete by 247Sports, his junior season film shows him lining up as a slot receiver and in the backfield for the Warriors, with an occasional snap out wide.

There are two former Oak Grove players on the Golden Eagles' roster: Linebacker Hayes Maples and wideout Brandon Hayes.

Gray, who is not yet rated by 247Sports, becomes the 12th commit in the Southern Miss recruiting class for 2023, and the seventh from the state of Mississippi.
