The Oak Ridge Lions Club invites people to sign up for a chili lunch that will be delivered to area businesses on Feb. 14. There is also an option to dine with the Lions. The money raised will be used for Lions Club programs and charities.
“The Annual Chili Lunch is the primary event that funds the Oak Ridge Lions Club vision programs, including eye screenings in schools,” Lions Club President Wendy Cain stated in the release. “The money raised also helps provide assistance for eye exams and eyeglasses.”
The luncheon is from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Faith Lutheran Church in Oak Ridge. For $15 per person at the church, you can get all the handcrafted chili, chips, cheese, cornbread, drinks, and dessert you care to eat.
Orders for delivery must be received by Thursday, Feb. 9. Customers are invited to order as many servings as they like for delivery. Five servings of chili and sides cost $45 and 10 servings cost $75 if delivered. On the day of the luncheon, the Lions Club delivers fresh, hot chili to your office along with corn chips, cheese, utensils, and napkins.
“We are so thankful for the long-standing community support of our Lions Club programs,” said Cain. “These programs allow us to support and serve those in need. My special request is that on Feb. 14, you let us serve you – some chili!”
