Oak Ridge Orchestra, The Deltas, Kartal to perform May 27 concert
Presented by Friends of the Grove Theater, Periodic Tables, and High Places Church, the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra will perform “Music for Everyone! A Free Concert in the Park” at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at A. K. Bissell Park Pavilion.
The concert opens with a reprisal of Concertmaster Karen Kartal and her Jazz Friends, featuring saxophonist Marcel Holman and singer Jeanine Fuller followed by The Deltas, Oak Ridge’s own hometown band, taking the stage to perform favorite hits from the 1960s, '70s, and '80s with the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra led by Music Director Régulo Stabilito. “Let’s rock in the park to music everyone will love,” said Maestro Stabilito in a news release. “Earth, Wind, & Fire, The Beatles, Patsy Cline … There’s so much fun and great music. But also, we take this time during the Memorial Day weekend for a solemn recognition to honor our nation’s fallen heroes. We are very thankful to Pastor David Allred for gathering significant sponsorship support to present this concert.”
