Oak Ridge Wildband fruit sale begins
The Oak Ridge High School WildBand's annual fresh fruit fundraiser is underway.
The WildBand fruit sale has become a long-standing tradition over the past 37years, according to a news release. Once again, this year, the WildBand is working with Florida growers to bring fresh citrus, apples and more. Florida Indian River Groves fruit can be ordered now through Nov. 10, with local delivery in mid-December. You can also order online and send as gifts to out-of-town family and friends for a small shipping fee.
Most fruit orders are harvested the same day they ship, bringing buyers the freshest product possible. Choose from navel oranges, pink grapefruit, Hamlin juice oranges, mandarin oranges, or Washington State Red Delicious apples. Cartons come in a variety of fruits and sizes, convenient for small or large families.
Exciting new items offered this year include pound cake, cheesecake and soup mixes. Special holiday gift packages with additional items such as toffee and pecans are also available. The fruit is packaged in shaped trays that keep the product cushioned during transport and Florida Indian River Groves offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee.Proceeds from the fruit sale benefit the award-winning ORHS WildBand program. Needs range from purchasing and maintaining instruments to uniform repair and replacement. Students may also earn sales credits to pay for band fees and expenses.
People may order online through the WildBand website, www.wildband.org, or through a current WildBand student. To order via the website with a credit card or check, click on the Fruit Sale icon to enter the online store. The WildBand will also be selling fruit at some ORHS home football games this year. If you don’t want to order fruit, but would still like to support the ORHS WildBand, consider a donation via PayPal at www.wildband.org.
