Oakland man arrested after hit-and-run that injured person in American Canyon

(KRON) — A victim of a hit-and-run Tuesday evening was taken to the hospital, the American Canyon Police Department said. The crash happened just after 6:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 29 and Eucalyptus Drive.

The driver was in a 2003 Chevy Trailblazer (pictured above) and drove away to Donaldson Way and West Carolyn Drive. The suspect then fled on foot and tried to hide in the bushes nearby, police said.

The suspect, identified as 30-year-old Oakland man Carlos Perez, was then arrested after he ran back to his Chevy in an attempt to escape. He was arrested for felony driving under the influence, felony hit and run, resisting arrest and driving on a suspended license.

Perez’s bail is set at $100,000, according to Napa County jail records.

The victim was treated at the hospital for minor-to-moderate injuries.
