Oakland Park’s Meghan Stasi named FSGA Hall of Fame inductee

Four-time U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur champion Meghan Stasi was selected as a Florida State Golf Association Hall of Fame inductee on Tuesday.

Stasi will enter the association’s Hall of Fame in November at the FSGA’s annual meeting and banquet at Boynton Beach’s Club at Quail Ridge. At 42, the Oakland Park resident will become the youngest person inducted into the FSGA Hall of Fame in the association’s 16-year history.

“There’s so many incredible players in the state of Florida, and I’ve been fortunate to meet so many of them,” Stasi said in a statement. “It’s just a real honor to be a part of an organization that cares so much. There’s so many deserving players, so it was a complete shock.”

Stasi — an eight-time FSGA Women’s Amateur Player of the Year — has compiled four United States Golf Association championship wins as well as 17 state championship victories.

She became just the third player in USGA history to win consecutive U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Champions after sealing a victory in 2007 at Desert Forest Golf Club in Arizona. Following her back-to-back wins, Stasi was selected to represent the U.S. at the 2008 Curtis Cup at St. Andrew’s, going on to help the team win 13-7.

The Ole Miss college graduate is tied with Ellen Port as the only player to win the Women’s Mid-Amateur title four times and is also one of only 16 individuals to win the USGA championship at least four times.
