Obsession star Charlie Murphy talks filming Happy Valley at same time
Obsession's Charlie Murphy worked her socks off over the last 18 months, shooting the new Netflix thriller and Happy Valley series 3 side by side.
Discussing the challenges this presented, the actress spoke to Digital Spy and other media about balancing the two projects.
"It was great that I had done [Happy Valley] before," she said. "[Obsession] was definitely taking a lot of brain space because we're establishing a world and you really are learning as we go.
"We're building the road in front of us constantly. So it felt really good to go to something, if I was double-jobbing, that would be the show to come back to."

Murphy, who portrayed Anna and policewoman Anne Gallagher in the two dramas, went on to commend her Obsession and Happy Valley colleagues for making this potential banana skin an easy one to negotiate.
"[I was] just very lucky with writers and Sally Wainwright's incredible. We had those scripts very early on," she said.
"That world I knew very well so luckily, surrounded by a scene partner with Sarah [Lancashire], scene partner, Richard [Armitage] – pretty nice sandwich to be in."

Meanwhile, Murphy's Obsession co-stars Rish Shah and Indira Varma recently caught up with Digital Spy to share their appreciation for the show's tone.
"I feel like the pacing of this... so much is happening so quickly within the four episodes, it does escalate so quickly. [But] it felt as though we really had the time to sit within those moments of difficulty or truth or whatever it was," pointed out Shah.
"I was really keen to do something more domestic," Varma added. "The delicacy of the emotions that are in play, that's sort of my favourite thing. I think that's why I wanted to do it."
Obsession is available to stream on Netflix, while all three series of Happy Valley are available over on BBC iPlayer.
