Ocala courts: Three felony cases resolved with prison or probation terms
Three felony cases were recently resolved at the Marion County Judicial Center.
State v. Modesto A. Espinosa-Segredo
On Tuesday, Circuit Judge Anthony Tatti accepted a plea from Modesto A. Espinosa-Segredo, who was charged with cultivating cannabis and tampering with/theft of utility or cable service. With the first charge, Espinosa-Segredo had his adjudication withheld, and for the second offense, he entered a no contest plea.
Records show he was sentenced to three years of probation, ordered to make restitution to the victim or victims, and ordered to complete community service. Charges of trafficking in cannabis in excess of 25 pounds or 300 plants and possession of a place for manufacturing a controlled substance were not pursued by prosecutors.
The 26-year-old was picked up by law enforcement officials in late 2021. Authorities said he told them he was in charge of a Marion Oaks grow house. Drug officials went to a residence, located on Southwest 59th Avenue Road, after receiving information about a marijuana grow operation.

At the home, officials said, they found a sophisticated operation.
State v. Montray Raschad Page
Montray Raschad Page was sentenced to five years of probation on Monday on a charge of accessory after the fact, a first-degree felony. This was pursuant to a plea agreement between prosecutors and the man's lawyer.
The Ocala man has credit for 215 days already spent at the county jail. Circuit Judge Robert Hodges presided over the hearing, according to court documents.
Records show Page was originally charged with attempted felony murder and principal to robbery with a firearm. Neither charge was pursued by prosecutors.
Part of Page's plea deal calls for the 30-year-old man to have no contact with the victim or victims. He cannot possess any firearms, ammunition or weapons.
Law enforcement officials said Page was part of an attack in November 2018 where Kamal Jamal Pryor, 45, was beaten, shot and left on the side of a road in north Marion County.
State v. Dandre Michael Fields
Also on Monday, Dandre Michael Fields agreed to serve a 20-year prison term. He pleaded no contest to aggravated battery with a firearm, attempted robbery with a firearm and shoot at/within/or into a vehicle.
Fields, 22, of Ocala, has 1,110 days of credit for time already served at the jail. He must make restitution to the victim or victims and must forfeit all illegally obtained items, court records show.
A little more than three years ago, Fields was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies after officials were told he shot a 17-year-old victim in the face.
