OCEAN CITY, NJ — Here are the latest coronavirus updates around Ocean City and Cape May County.

Cases

The Cape May County Health Department reported the following in Ocean City as of Friday— figures reported last Friday are in parenthesis.

  • community resident active cases: 85 (79)

  • community residents cleared off quarantine: 484 (441)

  • community deaths: zero (zero)

  • nonresident active cases: zero (zero)

  • longterm-care active cases: nine (zero)

  • longterm-care cleared off quarantine: 52 (52)

  • longterm-care deaths: zero (zero)

The CMCHD reported the following county-wide numbers as of Friday — Jan. 8 figures in parenthesis:

  • community resident active cases: 624 (614)

  • community residents cleared off quarantine: 4,039 (3,692)

  • community deaths: zero (one)

  • nonresident active cases: two (six)

  • longterm-care active cases: 21 (17)

  • longterm-care cleared off quarantine: 341 (328)

  • longterm-care deaths: zero (zero)

Vaccines

The state health department has logged 4,744 vaccine doses administered in Cape May County as of Friday afternoon. Cape May County has an estimated population of 92,039, and the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines each require two doses per person.

Recent Updates

  • The Ocean City School District will soon allow students to attend in-person five days per week. The first phase of the reopening plan welcomes students in kindergarten through fifth grade back to school beginning in February. MORE
