🌱 Oceanside Begins Redistricting + Free COVID-19 Testing

Here are the top five stories today in Oceanside-Camp Pendleton:

  1. The City of Oceanside is holding a series of Public Hearings and Community Outreach Meetings to begin the process of redistricting the City Council's four districts. The first meeting is on January 12th at 6 pm in the Oceanside City Council Chambers (Oceanside-Camp Pendleton Patch)

  2. Gov. Gavin Newsom activated the California National Guard to support local sites as the state experiences a testing shortage amid a dire surge in COVID-19 cases driven by the omicron variant. A total of six sites in San Diego County are getting assistance to expand testing capacity. (Los Angeles Patch)

  3. The Tri-City Medical Arts Building was sold for the first time in its more than 40-year history. The two-story, 33,914-square-foot medical office property in Vista was sold for $8.3 million, a real estate firm announced. The property is adjacent to Tri-City Medical Center on Thunder Drive.   4. Check out the five most recent houses to hit the market in the Oceanside-Camp Pendleton area — including a home in the Oceanside area with 1 bed and 1.5 baths for $799,000, and another in the Bonsall area with 5 beds and 2.5 baths for $1.7 million. (Oceanside-Camp Pendleton Patch)

  5. Gas prices are down slightly in San Diego County, but are still $1.36 higher than a year ago. The average price has dropped 4.2 cents since rising to $4.67 on Nov. 28, its highest amount since Oct. 12, 2012. Crude oil costs account for slightly more than half of the pump price, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. (Times of San Diego)
