Ocheyedan man dies in farming accident

Oct. 14—OCHEYEDAN, Iowa. — A rural Ocheyedan, Iowa, man has died as a result of a farming accident in Osceola County.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office and Ocheyedan Fire Department were dispatched to a field near the intersection of 120th Street, east of Tyler Avenue at 10:23 a.m. Wednesday following a 911 call about a tractor and grain wagon on fire. An adult male, Marlin Laverman, 62, was later discovered and pronounced dead at the scene. The Sibley Ambulance also assisted with the call.

Funeral services for Laverman are planned at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, Sheldon, Iowa. Burial will be in the Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley, Iowa.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center, Sheldon.
