A teller told investigators Losey handed her a note demanding $3,000, according to his arrest report. After she went to give the note to a supervisor, he reportedly left the building. No weapons were displayed during the incident.

The clothing Losey was seen wearing on security footage was reportedly found discarded along the fence line at a nearby hotel off Hollywood Boulevard.

Security footage from the hotel showed that Losey had been wearing a different set of clothes underneath, according to the report. The footage also showed him riding a dark bicycle away from the area.

On Wednesday, deputies received a tip that Losey had been spotted at an auto shop off Racetrack Road in Fort Walton Beach.

He was detained for questioning and later arrested after several witnesses positively identified him from images captured by surveillance video, the OCSO reported.

Losey is a registered sex offender in Florida. According to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, he was convicted of two counts of sexual battery and one count of kidnapping in Walton County in 2000.

He had been living at a home on Burnette Avenue in Fort Walton Beach for about two weeks, but according to the report, “never made any attempts to register his address” with the Sheriff’s Office as required by law.

Deputies also found the bicycle he was seen riding away from the credit union at the home. Losey is charged with attempted robbery and failure to register as a sex offender.
