Octavia Spencer is publicly expressing her condolences to her friend Sandra Bullock, after the loss of Bullock’s longtime partner Bryan Randall, who died on Aug. 5 following a private three-year battle with ALS.

The Oscar-winning star of “The Help” shared a supportive message for her friend and former co-star on Instagram Tuesday.

“My heart is broken for Sandy and Bryan,” she wrote alongside an image of Bullock and Randall. “Sandy lost her soulmate and the world lost a talented, handsome, all around good guy! My prayers and condolences to their families. RIP Bryan Randall.”

Spencer, 53, and 59-year-old Bullock developed a friendship when they both appeared in the 1996 drama “A Time to Kill.” The actresses shared the screen again in 2005′s “Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous.”

Randall, who was 57 at the time of death, battled the degenerative disease privately for three years.

“Bryan chose early to keep his journey with ALS private and those of us who cared for him did our best to honor his request,” his family told People. “We are immensely grateful to the tireless doctors who navigated the landscape of this illness with us and to the astounding nurses who became our roommates, often sacrificing their own families to be with ours.”

The former model-turned-professional photographer met Bullock in 2015 while working at her son Louis’ birthday. The couple kept their relationship largely out of the spotlight.
