ODAA honors Sen. Daniels for protecting victims' rights, advocacy for public safety

State Sen. Julie Daniels, R-Bartlesville, was honored with the prestigious “Infinity Award "from the Oklahoma District Attorneys Association during a recent ceremony in Oklahoma City.

She was recognized for her "dedicated service to streamlining the judicial process, protecting the rights of victims and being an advocate for public safety," the ODAA said in a release.

The Infinity Award is only given to those legislators who have a proven career of supporting public safety and the District Attorneys.

“Sen. Daniels is a phenomenal legislator,” said Chris Boring, president of ODAA and an elected district attorney representing northwest Oklahoma. “Her door is always open and she always thinks about victims of crime when addressing important issues.”

Washington County District Attorney Will Drake also praised Daniels for her dedication to her constituents.

“Washington and Nowata counties are well-served by Sen. Daniels,” he said. “(She) is a strong advocate both for public safety, government efficiency and the rule of law.  Those concerned about the rights of victims have a strong advocate in Sen. Daniels.”

This is the fourth time Daniels has been acknowledged for her leadership by the ODAA. Only one other current legislator, Sen. Lonnie Paxton, R-Tuttle, has been recognized by the group more often than Daniels.

“Sen. Daniels is one of a kind.  She is a great combination of ferocity and compassion and she makes our entire state better,” Boring said.
