OEHS Summer Football Camp Attendee Tests Positive For COVID-19

OSWEGO, IL — A freshman attending the Oswego East High School football summer camp tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday, a spokesperson from District 308 told Patch in an email. The remaining days of the camp were cancelled due to the quarantine requirements.

The student last attended camp on July 15 and according to a letter sent to parents by OEHS Head Football Coach Tyson LeBlanc, all attendees were asked to self-quarantine for 14 days in compliance with the state policy.

"The students in the camp practiced social distancing and also wore masks while in the building," the district spokesperson wrote. "The indoor area was sanitized after use by the student group, and was deep cleaned that evening as part of the daily cleaning protocol."

Under the direction of the Kendall County Health Department the appropriate notifications, quarantine and cleaning procedures were made.
