STARKVILLE — Mississippi State football has secured its second commitment for the 2024 recruiting class. Offensive tackle TJ Lockhart announced Sunday he will play for the Bulldogs.

"Staying home," he wrote on Twitter.

The 6-foot-6, 365-pound Lockhart is a native of Winona, Mississippi, who attends Winona Secondary School. He is an unrated player, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings.

Lockhart fielded offers from Arkansas State and Louisiana while generating interest form Memphis and Ole Miss. He is the first offensive lineman to commit to MSU since coaches Will Friend (offensive line) and Mike Schmidt (tight ends/tackles) were added to Zach Arnett's staff.
