UPDATE: Officals investigate a suspicious package on the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge

UPDATE: 10 a.m. the package was removed from the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge and traffic is back to normal.

At this time police have not revealed any information about the package.

Original: Traffic is being rerouted as police and fire departments investigate a suspicious package on the Shreveport-Barksdale bridge.

Officials were called the morning of Thursday, Jan. 1 after what appeared to be a suspicious package was seen on the bridge. The east side (going into Bossier City) is currently open. The west side of the bridge (going into Shreveport) is currently shut down as officials investigate.

Traffic is being diverted to Arthur Ray Teague Road.
