‘The Office’ actor Ewen MacIntosh dies at 50

(WJW) – Actor Ewen MacIntosh, who was best known for his role on “The Office,” has died at the age of 50.
MacIntosh played Keith Bishop in the original British version of “The Office.”

The show’s co-creator, co-author and star Ricky Gervais posted a tribute on social media.
“Extremely sad news,” Gervais wrote. “The very funny and very lovely Ewen Macintosh, known to many as ‘Big Keith’ from ‘The Office,’ has passed away. An absolute original. RIP.”
He followed that post with several other behind-the-scenes moments he remembered with MacIntosh.
JustRight Management confirmed his death in a statement.
“With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved comedy genius Ewen MacIntosh,” it reads.
Actor Rufus Jones also remembered MacIntosh on social media.
“Thinking of Ewen Macintosh today, who I’m reading has sadly left us,” Jones wrote. “A familiar and hilarious member of the Edinburgh sketch scene when we all started, and went on to create one of the most iconic scene stealers in tv comedy history. An absolute pleasure of a guy.”
There is no word on his cause of death.

MacIntosh was on “The Office” during its run from 2001 to 2003.
He has two projects currently in development.
