Jacksonville’s newest Hobby Lobby is progressing at Oakleaf Town Center as additional permits were granted for the retail store in October by the city's Building Inspections Division.

The space previously housed OfficeMax, Lifeway and AC Moore and will be next to the Target off Argyle Forest Boulevard and Old Middleburg Road. The project will include renovations to the building in both interior and exterior areas of the single-story structure.

The makeover is projected to cost $18.9 million. Snyder General Construction Inc. is the contractor.

It will be Jacksonville's fourth Hobby Lobby store. The others are at 11250 Old St Augustine Road in Mandarin; 4972 Town Center Parkway near the St. Johns Town Center; and 15324 Max Leggett Parkway near River City Marketplace.

The store features home and seasonal decor, tableware, floral, arts and crafts supplies, yarn, fabric, jewelry-making materials, hobbies and other accessories.

More industrial growth

A large industrial building is about to be constructed in an expanding industrial park near Interstate 295.

The building will go up at 2895 Ignition Drive near Lem Turner Road for owner Park 295 Two Owner LLC, according to permits approved by Jacksonville building inspectors.

The structural steel building will cover 217,000 square feet and cost about $11.4 million to erect, according to the documents.
