Officers seek to identify 2 people involved in robbery at South Side Red Line station

CHICAGO — Authorities in Chicago are asking for help from the public in the search for two people who police say robbed a man at a South Side Red Line station.

Chicago police say the robbery unfolded just before 4 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, at the 63rd Station in the 220 block of West 63rd Street in Englewood.

According to police, the two individuals, who are believed to be a man and a woman, approached the victim and forcibly took his phone and money from his pockets.

Officers say the man is believed to be between 20 and 25 years of age, stands between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, and weighs between 160 and 180 pounds. He was spotted wearing a tan hoodie, a green camouflage jacket, and dark pants.

Police say the woman is also believed to be between 20 and 25 years of age and weighs between 160 and 188 pounds. Police say she had long red dreadlocks and was spotted wearing a black stocking hat, a white sweater, and black pants.

Police advise the public to remain aware of their surroundings and stay free from distractions. According to officers, anyone who is confronted by an assailant should try to remain calm.

Authorities warn the public never to pursue a fleeing assailant and instead work to remember any unique physical characteristics of the offenders.
