If you watched the most recent series of The Great British Baking Show and thought "This is pretty good, but I wish the contestants would all do a bit of singing," then you're in luck. The Great British Bake Off: The Musical will be debuting at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, England later this summer.

The just-announced musical will reflect the setup of the now decade-old series, and will feature eight amateur bakers, two presenters, and two judges. (Presumably some of those characters will be based on the show's current talent, presenters Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.) The musical's score and its 18 original songs were written by Jake Brunger and Pippa Cleary.

"Follow the trials and tribulations of our bakers, all with their own stories to tell and as unique from one another as their marvelous baked creations," the Everyman Theatre writes in its description of the show. "Find out who will triumph as Star Baker, and who will fall foul of a soggy bottom. Expect heart-warming characters, ounces of laughter and mouth-watering music in this brand-new and original British musical, suitable for the whole family."

The musical was created in association with The Great British Bake Off's executive producer Richard McKerrow and its production company, Love Productions. McKerrow told The Times that he started thinking about a musical version of Bake Off while he was watching The Great American Baking Show, a U.S. adaptation of one of Britain's most-loved exports. "There was someone in it who was singing while baking and it was suddenly like, 'There is something about singing that is like baking: you do it for yourself but for other people,'" he said.

According to The Guardian, around 6.9 million people in the U.K. watched the finale of the show's most recent season, when Italian engineer Giuseppe Dell'Anno successfully out-baked fellow finalists Chigs Parmar and Crystelle Pereira. "There are no words. I'm speechless for once," he said after his big win. "I'm in shock, I'm in shock, I'm in shock."

The cast for The Great British Bake Off: The Musical has not yet been announced. It will have its world premiere on Friday, July 22, and is scheduled to run at the Everyman through Saturday, August 6. Tickets are on sale now, and range in price from £22 ($29) to £48 ($64).
