It's official: Jacksonville Jaguars receive No. 1 pick in 2022 NFL Draft
The whistle sounded at 4:02 p.m. Sunday, and for the second consecutive season, the news became official.
The Jacksonville Jaguars will pick first in the 2022 NFL Draft.
With Sunday's 26-11 win over the Indianapolis Colts, the 3-14 Jaguars again finished with the worst record in the NFL, a half-game worse than the 3-13-1 Detroit Lions.
The reason: Detroit rallied to beat the Green Bay Packers 37-30 on D'Andre Swift's touchdown run inside the final two minutes, soon followed by C.J. Moore's interception on Jordan Love.

Jaguars report card: For a change, an AAA-wesome performance against the Colts
Playoff mayhem initiated: A Jaguars win vs. the Colts would lead to NFL playoff madness. Steelers, Ravens, Raiders fans react.
That means Jaguars owner Shad Khan and his front office and coaching staff — whoever they may be by the time the opening round arrives on April 28 — will once again get the first choice at the most-coveted prospects arriving from the college ranks.
Assuming they retain the draft spot, the Jaguars would become only the sixth team since the 1970 AFL-NFL merger to pick No. 1 overall in two consecutive drafts. The previous examples also included one expansion team (the 1976-77 Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and a reconstituted team (the 1999-00 Cleveland Browns).
