A 21-year-old died after slipping while taking a photo and falling off a mountain at Lost Dutchman State Park early Monday morning, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office said.

Richard Jacobson and a friend were camping on top of Flatiron when Jacobson went to the edge and slipped, the Sheriff's Office said.

Jacobson's friend, who was not identified by officials, called 911. Search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area at around 12:45 a.m.

The Sheriff's Office initially said Jacobson's body was found approximately 700 feet below where he fell, but on Friday said the estimate was between 400 and 700 feet. An Arizona Department of Public Safety ranger was called to assist in the recovery of Jacobson's body.

No further details were immediately available.
