Officials identify woman, 75, who died in Andover house fire Monday
The Andover Fire-Rescue department has identified a woman who died from her injuries after a house fire Monday in Andover.
She was 75-year-old Virginia Manchesian of Andover, city spokesperson Megan Schapaugh said in a news release.
The fire was reported around 9:41 a.m. in the 600 block of W. Allison. Manchesian and a man were taken to hospitals for treatment, The Eagle has reported.
Manchesian was taken to Kansas Medical Center in Andover where she later died, Schapaugh said.
The man was released from Via Christi St. Francis the same day. The relationship between Manchesian and the man is unknown, but they both lived in the home, Schapaugh said in an email reply.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and loved ones of the deceased during this difficult time,” Andover Fire-Rescue Chief Chad Russell said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by Andover Fire-Rescue and the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s Office.
