Offset's romantic effort to win Cardi B back falls flat; she tells fans to be kind
Rapper Offset made a grand public gesture to win back Cardi B, but she's having none of it.
The Migos member crashed his wife's set Saturday night at Rolling Loud Festival in Los Angeles, wheeling out elaborate flower arrangements that spelled out "TAKE ME BACK CARDI" along with additional bouquets of red and white flowers.
In video capturing the moment, she's seen shaking her head and having a muffled exchange with Offset, before banishing him and the stunt from the stage.
After the show, she posted a pair of videos on Instagram asking fans to understand.
"Violating my baby father is not gonna make me feel any better, 'cause at the end of the day, that's still family," she said in one.
In another, she referenced "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson's upsetting post Saturday in which he said he didn't even want to be on this earth anymore.
"God could bring me the most perfect, glamorous, fabulous man, and that perfect, glamorous, fabulous man .... is not going to love my child the same way her father loves my child," she said. "I know how painful it is when you have millions of people bashing you every single day. I don't like that, and it doesn't make me feel any better, period."
Offset had his own explanation for the public display of affection.
"All of my wrongs have been made public, i figure It’s only right that my apologies are made public too," he tweeted Sunday afternoon. "thank god I ain’t got no balloons sheeesh."

But many fans were upset because they felt Offset stole Cardi's spotlight.
One Twitter user summed things up: "Instead of the world talking about how Cardi killed it tonight, the headlines will be about offset’s latest attempt to win her back. That’s not cool."

Another added, "If Cardi was doing exactly what Offset is doing, we would label her sociopathic, 'crazy,' and every name in the book for these erratic behaviors. He does it and it's 'love.' " And another said, "Just selfish, yuck."

Others on Twitter held the organizers of Rolling Loud Festival responsible for allowing Offset to get onstage, especially since earlier in the evening, they tweeted, "Whatever happens tonight on the @audiomack stage, it's going viral."
In response to fans, Rolling Loud co-founder Tariq Cherif later tweeted, "Headliners and their teams have full control of the stage and who is allowed on it during their set. …We have never and will never do anything to change a headliner's set."

Earlier Saturday, Cardi seemed to be softening on the split, adding a message in Spanish to her Instagram Story that read, "Pensando en ti pensando en mi," or "Thinking of you thinking of me," according to E! News.
A day prior, Offset marked his 27th birthday by posting a video plea for reconciliation: "My birthday wish is just to have you back."
"I want to be able to spend the rest of my life with you," he said in the video. "I am sorry for what I have done to you. ... I love you, and I hope you forgive me."
The couple's public split after a year of marriage, when Offset was linked model Summer Bunni, has been playing out on social media all month.
In her Instagram video announcing the split, Cardi said that she and the Migos rapper had been trying to make their relationship work, to no avail.
"We are really good friends and we are really good business partners, you know, he’s always somebody that I run to to talk to, and we got a lot of love for each other but things just haven’t been working out between us for a long time."
“It’s nobody fault. I guess we just grew out of love, but we are not together anymore. I don’t know it might take time to get a divorce and I’m going to always have a lot of love for him because he is my daughter’s father,” she added.
Cardi and Offset secretly married in September 2017 before the Migos rapper proposed to her in October, offering her a giant ring while onstage during Power 99 radio’s Powerhouse concert in Philadelphia.
The couple's baby daughter, Kulture, was born in July.
