STORY: Sebastien Ogier has extended his lead over Citroen team mate Esapekka Lappi in the Rally Turkey with three stages remaining on Sunday (September 15).

Ogier, who had an overnight lead of just 0.2 seconds, increased his advantage to 5.7 seconds over the Finn in the day's opening stage.

In the battle for third, Norway's Andreas Mikkelsen has a 13.4 second lead over Teemu Suninen of Finland.

Championship leader Ott Tanak of Estonia, who retired on Saturday (September 14), decided not to take a spare wheel on his Toyota Yaris in order to save weight and attack for power stage bonus points on the final stage.

Tanak leads the overall standings with 205 points, 33 points ahead of Belgian Thierry Neuville. Ogier is 40 points behind Tanak and is set to make big inroads into that lead.
